Have you ever seen a rock that looks like a giant mushroom? It has a flat top and a curved base, giving it the appearance of a mushroom or an umbrella. The rock is composed of layers of different colours, ranging from white to brown to red. The rock is also covered with carvings and graffiti, some of which date back to centuries ago.
The origin and formation of Arror Rock is a mystery. Some people believe that it was created by a volcanic eruption, while others think that it was shaped by wind and water erosion over millions of years. Some locals also believe that it was a miracle of God or a sign of some supernatural power. Whatever the case may be, Arror Rock is a remarkable sight that attracts many visitors and pilgrims.
On the top of Arror Rock, there is a shrine dedicated to a Sufi saint named Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, who lived in the 18th century and is considered to be one of the greatest poets and mystics of Sindh4. The shrine is a simple structure made of bricks and mud, with a green dome and a white flag. It is said that Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai used to meditate on Arror Rock and that he composed some of his famous verses there. The shrine is a place of worship and reverence for many people, especially the followers of the Bhitai sect, who come here to pay their respects and seek blessings.
To reach the shrine, you have to climb a steep and narrow staircase that is carved into the side of the rock. The climb is not easy, and it can be dangerous if you are not careful. You have to watch your step and hold on to the railing, as there is no protection from the edge. The staircase is also crowded with people, especially on Fridays and Sundays, when many devotees come to the shrine.
