Despite its deep cultural roots and restorative orientation, Pakistan’s traditional Jirga system remains legally unregulated and often violates constitutional, Islamic, and human rights principles. This article critically assesses its role, outlines its structural flaws, and proposes actionable reforms for its regulation and integration into the formal judicial system.
